Elton John – Honky Château

I had a few different good sounding UK original pressings before I got this one earlier today. This is probably the most dynamic pressing of the ones I’ve, it’s crankable and begs to be played loud. I love it.

This 2019 version is exceptionally good!!! I already have the MFSL and was afraid to invest in another Honky Chateau CD but this one is incredibly detailed and clear that I have no doubt most fans of early Elton John works will prefer to keep both versions.

Good pressing, not incredible though. Some crackling and pops that are audible durning quieter parts. Satisfying enough. Awesome album.

The CD is dynamic and clear. The performance is well worth the price on any medium.

I must say that I am surprised at the subdued lows of this pressing - was expecting more boom. Besides that, all the other elements are there and make this pressing incredible.

Mirroring these great reviews, I genuinely believe that this is the best pressing of this album by a mile. Sucks Rocket Man lost some fidelity being the last track on this pressing, because on the DCC pressing of Elton’s Greatest Hits, its the first track on side 2 and it’s a surreal experience to listen to how good that recording sounds. Still, this is a must for every Elton John fan, audiophile or not

My copy has a misprint on the LP, it's written "MANA Lisas and Mad Hatters". Do somebody has the same ?

This is a wonderful sounding album! Quite dynamic with a wide soundstage. The depth is little shallow, but that doesn't take too much away from the presentation. It's well balanced with nice deep bass and tasteful highs with no sibilance. My copy is an excellent pressing with almost no surface noise. I don't have any other versions, but I'm happy with this one.

Has anyone directly compared the VMP reissue to a DJM UK pressing?
